Darshan Gajjar

I was commissioned to direct a documentary by Sheffield City Council and Arts Council England with the University of Sheffield. I worked with Danae on bringing her poem to life that tells the stories of those within the Windrush generation coming to Sheffield. We wanted to make it show that these were real people, with their own stories and feelings, not the usual narrative which just focuses on the Windrush aspect. It was screened at Off the Shelf Festival 2023.

It has screened in various festivals around the UK and internationally, including:
