Preserve your precious memories by transferring your old video tapes to high-quality digital formats. I offer a friendly, local service converting 8mm, Hi8, Digital8, and MiniDV tapes to USB or downloadable MP4/MOV files.
Based in Sheffield, I offer a local, personal service. You can drop off and collect your tapes in person, or post them to me safely — I’ll walk you through the process.

Hi, I’m an independent filmmaker based in Sheffield, and I’ve spent years working with all kinds of video formats — from MiniDV and Hi8 to Super 8 and beyond. This project isn’t part of a big company; it’s just me, offering a personal service to help you bring your old memories back to life.
People often find tapes tucked away in drawers or attics, unsure of what’s on them — if anything at all. I completely understand that uncertainty, and I’m happy to guide you through the process. If you're unsure whether a tape has anything worth saving, I can even skim through it for a small fee before doing a full transfer. No pressure, just a simple, friendly service to help preserve what matters.

Standard Pricing
£15 per tape (up to 2 hours)
+£5 for longer tapes (over 2 hours)
Includes file conversion to MP4 or MOV and your chosen delivery method (USB/download)
Bulk Discounts
5–9 tapes: £13 each
10+ tapes: £11 each

Free for orders of up to 5 tapes
For larger orders, a small handling fee helps cover storage and transfer time:
6–19 tapes: £3
20–29 tapes: £6
30–39 tapes: £9 (And so on, increasing by £3 for every 10 tapes)
USB Drive
Provide your own USB, or I can supply one:
16GB – £6
32GB – £12
64GB – £16
I’ll let you know how much space you’ll need based on your tapes (typically 2–4GB per hour of footage.
How do I get the tapes to you?
Local to Sheffield?
You’re welcome to drop off and collect your tapes free of charge from my location near Sheffield city centre — I’ll give you the full address once we confirm your order.
Posting Your Tapes
I also accept orders by post. Once your tapes are digitised, I’ll return them via Royal Mail Tracked:
Standard return postage: £4.50
Larger orders (10+ tapes): from £7.50
Your original tapes will always be returned safely, along with any USBs (if included).
Broken Tapes
Old tapes are delicate, and over time they can snap, get tangled, or suffer damage to the casing. If you’ve got a broken tape, don’t worry — I offer basic repair and can often recover the footage inside. While not every tape can be fully restored, I’ll do my best to fix it and retrieve what’s there. Repairs are quoted individually, depending on the issue, and I’ll always check with you before going ahead.
